New Show Sets Up NBC Sports’ Live NASCAR Race Coverage, Beginning in July 2015

The day after the next Daytona 500 Champion is crowned, NBCSN introduces NASCAR AMERICA, a new 30-minute daily show dedicated to the nation’s longstanding fascination with speed and stock car racing.  Making its début on NBCSN at 5 p.m. ET on Monday, February 24, and returning each weekday at the same time and place, NASCAR AMERICA will cover the sport from all angles, delivering news, highlights and access to NASCAR’s dynamic stars and personalities. Michigan has been known to play naughty and nice. In June, Hendrick Motorsports was on the track’s good side until disaster started to strike toward the end of the race. They went from dominating to having a day to forget in a matter of laps. That was an example of how this two-miler can come out and bite. Who’ll be the victim of Michigan’s destruction this weekend? Not the typical Michigan race on Sunday afternoon, this race featured lots of action and varying strategy leaving many faces at the front throughout the event. By the end of the race, Ford claimed the motor city’s pride as Greg Biffle pulled into victory lane for his first victory of the season. The end of the race was best for Biffle with lady luck on his side when a fast Jimmie Johnson had problems as he was closing in on the lead. Continue reading

Last Chance for Fan Vote in Sprint All-Star Race at Charlotte

downloadOnly three unclaimed spots remain for Saturday night’s NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race. And 23 drivers will race hard to nab one of them in the Sprint Showdown (7:30 p.m. ET on SPEED), the precursor to the main event scheduled to start at about 9 p.m. ET.

Among that list of 23 are rookies, veterans, winners and former Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup contenders. Three rookies pepper the fields: Danica Patrick, Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and Timmy Hill. Martin Truex Jr. had a career year last year, making the Chase and vying for a championship. He’ll join Jeff Burton and Juan Pablo Montoya as former Chasers who have yet to lock up a spot.
