Kasey Kahne made Team Hendrick proud on Sunday at Pocono after he took the win in a day they totally dominated. A wild afternoon started with pole-sitter Jimmie Johnson leading, but when he ran into trouble just shy of the mid-point of the race, Kahne rose to the top spot. Then when a late caution sprung a dash for the win, it was Jeff Gordon taking over the lead but he was passed on another late restart by Kahne. NASCAR Team Properties announced today that it has reached a licensing agreement with Touch by Alyssa Milano to create a line of apparel for female NASCAR fans. The fashionable apparel is designed utilizing high quality fabrics and features NASCAR drivers such as Dale Earnhardt Jr., Tony Stewart, Danica Patrick and Jimmie Johnson.

Jimmie Johnson Wins NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Coke Zero 400 at Daytona International Speedway on July 6, 2013

No one has done it since 1982; that is until this past weekend. Sweeping both Daytona races in the same season, Jimmie Johnson broke a 30-year dry spell Saturday night with his win in the Coke Zero 400. Johnson was up front all night and held off his competitors each time they challenged him for the lead. The race was classic Daytona with carnage and nail-biting racing throughout the evening. Restrictor-plate racing doesn’t get any better and this race proved Daytona night racing is fun to watch.

Lap 32 was when Johnson found the front for the first time of the night and he wouldn’t be away from that spot for much more of the race. Continue reading →

Great Clips Extends Sponsor with Hendrick Motorsports

In a sport where sponsors are tougher and tougher to come by, Hendrick Motorsports (HMS) has found one that wants to expand its involvement. Great Clips will be appearing on Kasey Kahne’s No. 5 Chevrolet three times this season. The sponsor also plays a role on the Nationwide team of JR Motorsports, as well as, on the No. 5 car.

In 2014, Great Clips plans to expand its involvement with Hendrick Motorsports. Fox Sports first reported this week that Great Clips will be the primary sponsor of the No. 5 team for ten races in 2014. The report has not been confirmed by Great Clips or HMS at this time. Continue reading →

Not the typical Michigan race on Sunday afternoon, this race featured lots of action and varying strategy leaving many faces at the front throughout the event. By the end of the race, Ford claimed the motor city’s pride as Greg Biffle pulled into victory lane for his first victory of the season. The end of the race was best for Biffle with lady luck on his side when a fast Jimmie Johnson had problems as he was closing in on the lead. Continue reading →
