Last June when the Sprint Cup Series was at Michigan, a long winless streak was broken by NASCAR’s most popular driver. Junior Nation rejoiced as Dale Earnhardt Jr. pulled into victory lane to celebrate his first Cup win since 2008. It was a day that Earnhardt Jr. and his fans won’t soon forget, but they are also hoping they can get to victory lane again sometime soon. Earnhardt Jr. showed his strength on the freshly repaved Michigan and that could give him a leg-up for this weekend. It’s anyone’s game with the Gen 6 car at Michigan, so it could be Junior celebrating at the end of the race or it could be another driver looking to break through for a victory. Continue reading

The longest race of the season had some of the most bizarre events unfold throughout the night. Once the smoke settled, Kevin Harvick was standing in victory lane for the second time in the Coca Cola 600. This race always features a twist of events around the 500 mile mark and Sunday night’s event didn’t disappoint in that category. The action was all-over the track throughout the night and each occurrence in the race will be making headlines in the week to come. Continue reading

Endurance, stamina, and focus will be tested on Sunday night in the longest and most grueling race of the year, the Coca Cola 600. An extra hundred miles of racing can change the course of an event and in years past, it hasn’t always mattered what you did in the first 500 miles, but what you did in the final one-hundred. This race is NASCAR’s answer to a marathon and the two events share a lot of similar aspects. A go for broke attitude won’t win any driver this race, what will, is how a driver endures all 600 miles, spanning from daylight to darkness in the longest night of motorsports. Continue reading
