As a 19-year-old Georgia native, Chase Elliott is one of NASCAR’s brightest young stars. He’s consistently won at every level of motorsport from ARCA to the Camping World Truck Series.  As the son of NASCAR hall of fame driver Bill Elliott, winning may literally be in his DNA. As a racer, the young Elliott is mature, poised and humble. He is extremely honest with himself and is his own toughest critic.

This rare set of characteristics will serve him well in 2016, as he moves full-time into the Sprint Cup Series. Elliott is taking over driving duties in the No. 24 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet , now driven by four-time champion Jeff Gordon. Texas Tussle of Champions: Jimmie Johnson Outduels Kevin Harvick to Win Duck Commander 500

Jimmie Johnson continued his recent domination of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races at Texas Motor Speedway Saturday night, rallying after a late pit stop for a victory in the 19th annual Duck Commander 500.

Johnson, the six-time Sprint Cup Series champion, took the lead on lap 321 of the scheduled 334 when he drove under and past Jamie McMurray and Kevin Harvick exiting the dogleg of Texas Motor Speedway’ high-banked, 1.5-mile quad-oval. The last 14 laps featured a battle between Johnson and Harvick, the reigning Sprint Cup Series champion, who finished second despite scraping the turn four wall on lap 331. Continue reading

Phoenix is Kasey Kahne’s 400th Consecutive Sprint Cup Series Career Start

Similar to his career, Kasey Kahne’s 2015 season has, so far, been a mixed bag of ups and downs.  With the fourth Sprint Cup Series race of the season coming at Phoenix International Raceway on Sunday, March 15th, Kahne will have his 400th series consecutive, career start in the CampingWorld.com 500 and that is reason for celebration.

In his previous 399 starts, he has an average finish of 17.3 and ranks 21st on the consecutive starts list. Continue reading
