Jimmie Johnson finally earns his first win at Michigan International Speedway and it’s his third visit to victory lane this season.

The six-time NASCAR Sprint Cup series champion took command of the lead on lap 191 and from there he cruised to the checkered flag at Sunday’s Quicken Loans 400 to end a 24-race drought. Continue reading

NBC Sports Adds Steve Letarte to 2015 Broadcast Team

After several reports floating around on social media throughout the day, NBC Sports, Executive Producer Sam Flood made it official that they and Hendrick Motorsports crew chief Steve Letarte have reached an agreement for him to join NBC’s multi-platform NASCAR coverage beginning in 2015. The announcement is followed by a media conference scheduled for 8:30 am ET Friday at Daytona International Speedway, when more details will be discussed. Continue reading

NASCAR Sprint Cup Series™ driver Tony Stewart’s reaction to being named recipient of the 2013 NMPA Myers Brothers Award was emotional and heartfelt.

“This is crazy,” said the three-time NASCAR Sprint Cup champion. “What an honor. It’s very humbling.”

There is always one race in the Chase when a non-championship contender sneaks up and grabs the victory. Charlotte has become a track where this feat can easily be accomplished. Brad Keselowski was the driver to pull it off this season when he pulled into victory lane Saturday night at Charlotte. It was nowhere near a dominant performance by the defending champion. Michigan has been known to play naughty and nice. In June, Hendrick Motorsports was on the track’s good side until disaster started to strike toward the end of the race. They went from dominating to having a day to forget in a matter of laps. That was an example of how this two-miler can come out and bite. Who’ll be the victim of Michigan’s destruction this weekend?
