Edwards Dominates Wild NASCAR Sprint Cup Race at Bristol

The record will show that polesitter Carl Edwards won Sunday’s Food City 500 at Bristol Motor Speedway in dominating fashion, leading 276 of 500 laps and beating runner-up Dale Earnhardt Jr. to the finish line by 0.766 seconds.

But while Edwards cruised to victory with the fastest car in the eighth NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race of the season, drivers behind him suffered a litany of troubles, populating the top-ten with the most unlikely array of competitors this season.

Jones Capitalizes on Late Restart for XFINITY Win at Bristol

Erik Jones’ third NASCAR XFINITY Series victory was a real triple play.

In the series’ new Dash 4 Cash format featuring two heat races and a main event, Jones took advantage of a restart with three laps left in Saturday’s Fitzgerald Glider Kits 300 and 1) won the race, 2) earned the $100,000 dash for cash bonus and 3) stopped Joe Gibbs Racing teammate and race runner-up Kyle Busch’s streak of four straight NASCAR national series victories.

Jones, the pole winner, restarted fourth on the last restart and charged into second place behind leader Kyle Larson when Busch’s No. 18 Toyota hesitated trying to pick up power in the bottom lane. Larson left the preferred top lane open through turns three and four and Jones took advantage, taking the lead from Larson with two laps left. Continue reading →

NASCAR XFINITY Series Teams are racing the Fitzgerald Glider Kits 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway today, Saturday, April 16th. Two 50-lap heat races at 26.65-miles each will decide the starting line up for the main event which is 200 laps for 106.6 miles. FOX Sports 1 starts their pre-race show at 12 pm ET with a green flag around 12:30 pm ET with radio coverage available on PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.

XFINITY Series Dash 4 Cash Kicks Off at Bristol Motor Speedway

The wait is over.

This weekend’s Fitzgerald Glider Kits 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway will kick off the first installment of this season’s XFINITY Series Dash 4 Cash program.

The XFINITY Series Dash 4 Cash will run two Heats and a Main at four tracks: Bristol Motor Speedway (April 16), Richmond International Raceway (April 23), Dover International Speedway (May 14) and Indianapolis Motor Speedway (July 23). Continue reading →

Kyle Busch Sweeps Second Straight NASCAR Weekend with Sprint Cup Win at Texas

Opportunistic Kyle Busch sped away from the rest of the field after a restart with 33 laps left in Saturday night’s Duck Commander 500 at Texas Motor Speedway and collected his second straight NASCAR Sprint Cup Series victory.

What’s more, Busch won his fourth straight NASCAR national series race, having swept last week’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and Sprint Cup events at Martinsville and having won Friday night’s NASCAR XFINITY Series race at Texas. Continue reading →

Kyle Busch Wins Record Eighth XFINITY Series Race at Texas

Kyle Busch broke his NASCAR XFINITY Series ‘losing streak’ on Friday night and in the process moved into rarefied air in the Lone Star State.

With a dominating victory from the pole in the O’Reilly Auto Parts 300 at Texas Motor Speedway, Busch won for the fourth time in five XFINITY starts this year. His only loss in that stretch was a second-place run after a late blown tire robbed him of victory in his last outing at Auto Club Speedway.

But on Friday night, Busch was back to his winning ways, leading a race-high 150 laps at the 1.5-mile track, notching his record eighth victory at Texas and extending his own series record to 80 triumphs. Continue reading →
