Chase Elliott’s clutch win in the NASCAR Cup Series, Xfinity 500 at Martinsville Speedway, gives him a chance to win a title at Phoenix Raceway.
The NASCAR Cup Series headed to Martinsville Speedway for one final time to decide which four drivers will be racing for a championship. Heading into Sunday’s race, all four drivers below the cutline faced a must-win situation to advance on to the championship round. It appeared as if the top-four had already solidified their place, but nothing is a guarantee, especially when racing at Martinsville.
NASCAR’s last 2020 Installment includes playoff dates and locations for all National Series, including Cup, Xfinity, Truck, ARCA West, and ARCA Menards Series.
NASCAR Cup Series
In the NASCAR Cup Series, all ten playoff venues and dates remain intact from the original 2020 schedule, with the postseason kicking off at Darlington Raceway on Sunday, Sept. 6, on NBCSN at 6 pm ET, and culminating with the crowning of a champion for the first time at Phoenix Raceway on Sunday, Nov. 8, on NBC at 3 pm ET.

The west coast swing is now under wraps. The FanShield 500 at Phoenix Raceway is the last of three races out west following the season-opening Daytona 500. And it ends with the season’s first repeat winner, as Joey Logano picks up his second win of the season. Besides the winner and where everybody finished, the race made headlines for a few other reasons.
Phoenix Power Ranking features the NASCAR Cup Series after the FanShield 500 at Phoenix Raceway
NASCAR visited its first short track of the 2020 season on Sunday, with 38 drivers hitting the track at Phoenix Raceway, a 1-mile flat track. The race was also the ground-breaker for the new aerodynamic package, with a much smaller rear spoiler and much less downforce. It ended with Joey Logano becoming the first repeat race-winner of the year, picking up his second win in four races, and it leads to a new number one in the Phoenix power ranking.
