Chandler Smith puts his name at the top of the ARCA Sioux Chief Showdown point standings.

The General Tire 150 recorded the inaugural race for the ARCA Menards Series at Phoenix Raceway on Friday night. This race was the second of their 20-race schedule. For the ARCA Sioux Chief Showdown, it was the first race of their ten-race schedule. For Chandler Smith, driver of the No. 20 for Venturini Motorsports, it was just part of a good day from the beginning to the win.

ARCA Sioux Chief Showdown at Phoenix marks a milestone for the ARCA Menards Series.

With a new NASCAR configuration this year, The ARCA Menards Series drivers have four chances to earn a championship trophy. The ARCA Menards Series, ARCA East, and West have their season openers in the books. And now, the ARCA Sioux Chief Showdown has their first of ten races this Friday, March 6th at Phoenix Raceway.

The ARCA Kansas 150 was a microcosm of the entire season for Christian Eckes. The Middletown, New York native was fast in practice, but engine issues necessitated a change following qualifying. That sent Eckes to the rear of the field for the start, but he quickly knifed his way through the field to the top five.
