Another dominant performance by a driver left that driver in victory lane at the end of the day. In the last few races it has been guys like Jimmie Johnson and Kyle Busch, but today it was Matt Kenseth. Kenseth dominated the race and he held of Kasey Kahne for the victory. At Las Vegas earlier this season, Kenseth won the race by holding off Kahne and that’s what he did again today.

Kenseth started on top and ended on top. He won the pole and started the race by leading for a long period. While he was leading, his teammates were having some difficulties. Kyle Busch brought out the first caution when he spun off turn two and the fourth caution of the day came out by Elliott Sadler ,who was running for JGR today, when he spun in turn four and backed his car into the outside wall. More JGR trouble occurred when Busch spun again, but this time in turn four and when he slid down the track, Joey Logano plowed into his front end. A huge impact destroyed the noses of the two cars and the day for both Busch and Logano was finished. Continue reading

One of the longest Truck Series races in a while ended with a great battle for the win. Matt Crafton held off Joey Coulter in the last laps for his third career Truck win. Crafton’s truck came alive towards the end of the race as he drove to get to the front and stay there. He did just that and it resulted in victory. Like predicted, the race was pure craziness with a lot of carnage. This was the first race for the trucks on Kansas’ new surface and the lack of experience on the surface was showing throughout the race today. Continue reading

When the Kansas Speedway reconfigured their track surface, before last October’s race, they created a track that could feature some action-packed and intense racing. Drivers attempted to figure-out their way around the new surface of the mile-and-a-half track last October, and left with some knowledge and mainly torn up sheet-metal. The race featured multiple incidents and  went down in the history books as one of the most exciting races in the history of the Kansas Speedway. Fans are hoping for a repeat performance when NASCAR’s Generation Six cars take to the track this weekend and they likely won’t be disappointed. Continue reading

A fast, new and wide surface at the Kansas Speedway will be put to the test as the Camping World Truck Series take to the reconfigured track for the first time, this weekend.

Last October in the Sprint Cup event, we saw action-packed racing during their first time on the reconfigured surface and this Saturday afternoon will be the trucks turn to take to the mile-and-a-half track. The teams’ notebooks will essentially be thrown out the window while they prepare for the race since this surface is a whole new animal. Continue reading
