NASCAR Camping World Truck Series teams are taking a break this weekend and will return to action Friday, June 10th for the Rattlesnake 400 at Texas Motor Speedway. Fans can watch all 250.5 miles during 167 laps on FOX Sports 1 at 8:30 pm ET with a green flag around 9 pm ET. Radio coverage is on MRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.

Crafton Cruises to Second Consecutive Win

Matt Crafton led a race-high 47 laps in last Saturday’s North Carolina Education Lottery 200 to cruise to his second consecutive NASCAR Camping World Truck Series victory.

The ThorSport Racing driver, who leads the points standings, is the first driver on the circuit to log multiple victories this season. He has totaled at least two wins in his last three campaigns. Continue reading

Five Legends Unveiled as 2017 NASCAR Hall Of Fame Class

Childress, Hendrick, Martin, Parks and Parsons Comprise Hall’s Eighth Class

NASCAR has announced the inductees who will comprise the NASCAR Hall of Fame Class of 2017. The five-person group – the eighth since the inception of the NASCAR Hall of Fame in 2010 – consists of Richard Childress, Rick Hendrick, Mark Martin, Raymond Parks and Benny Parsons. In addition, NASCAR announced that Martinsville Speedway founder H. Clay Earles won the Landmark Award for Outstanding Contributions to NASCAR.

The NASCAR Hall of Fame Voting Panel met today in a closed session at the Charlotte Convention Center to debate and vote upon the 20 nominees for the induction class of 2017 and the five nominees for the Landmark Award. Continue reading

Matt Crafton Dominates NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Race at Charlotte

Matt Crafton had a lot to overcome on Saturday—a 17th-place starting position and a difficult pit stall that cost him dearly in the early stages of Saturday’s North Carolina Education Lottery 200 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

But after 134 laps, Crafton was 5.748 seconds ahead of second-place Kyle Busch, winning the race and extending his series lead to 12 points over seventh-place finisher Timothy Peters. In fact, the two-time champion won consecutive races for the first time in his NASCAR Camping World Truck Series career, going back-to-back in successive weeks at Dover and Charlotte.

Even though it took Crafton more than half the race to get to the front, he sensed the quality of his ride from the drop of the green flag. Continue reading

Preview of NASCAR Sprint All Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway

The annual Sprint All-Star Race is on Saturday, May 21st at Charlotte Motor Speedway with FOX Sports 1 broadcasting their pre-race show at 8:30 pm ET and the green flag set to wave around 8:30 pm ET. Radio coverage is on PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90. 

Due to inclement weather, both the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and Sprint Showdown  events will now take place on Saturday, May 21st at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

The Sprint Showdown will begin at 11 am ET with Chase Elliott leading the field to green with the lineup set by Sprint Cup Series owner points. The green flag for the Camping World Truck Series, North Carolina Education Lottery 200 will drop at 12:30 pm ET with William Byron on the pole after setting field from speeds in Thursday’s practice session. Television coverage for both events is on FOX Sports 1 with radio coverage on PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio, channel 90.

Friday tickets are good for Saturday’s Sprint Showdown and North Carolina Education Lottery 200; Fans who wish to stay for Saturday night’s Sprint All-Star Race activities can buy those tickets at the ticket office or any ticket gate.

Changes to NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race Format

The 31st NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race will take place on Saturday at Charlotte Motor Speedway. 

This season, the event will last 113 laps total. Drivers will run two 50-lap segments with mandatory green-flag pit stops. After the segments, the event will culminate in a 13-lap dash to the $1 million prize. Continue reading
