Mayer closes championship season with a win in the ARCA Menards Series East Pensacola 200 at Five Flags Speedway on Sunday afternoon.
PENSACOLA, Fla. – Even for a driver who had won four of five ARCA Menards Series East races in 2020, Sam Mayer entered Sunday’s season finale at Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida, with an unusual amount of confidence.
It turns out the 17-year-old’s conviction was warranted.
Editor’s Note: Our interview with Bret Holmes is rescheduled according to the rescheduling of the Five Flags Speedway ARCA East race.
ARCA Menards Series driver Bret Holmes is coming off a great season finishing third in the series point standings last year. This year he’s taking Bret Holmes Racing in a new direction with a new look. And it’s all about winning in 2020.
The organization currently plans on running 14 events this season with new blue and white color scheme representing the No. 23 team. What’s not changing this year is that crew chief Shane Huffman is at the top of the pit box for every race. Last season the duo of Holmes and Huffman worked together garnering eight top-five and 18 top-ten finishes in 20 starts.
Five Flags Speedway is nationally known as the ‘Home of the Snowball Derby’. The track is building on that legacy and growing for the future. Last year, the ARCA Menards Series made their return to the Pensacola, Florida locale for the first time since 1996. This year, the popular half-mile track is hosting the ARCA Menards Series East for the Pensacola 200 this Saturday night.
