In the space of 100 laps, Kaz Grala went from youngest NASCAR national series pole winner at Daytona International Speedway to youngest NASCAR national series race winner at Daytona.

What happened between the first green flag and the checkers, however, could fill volumes.

Miraculously, Grala slipped through a wild wreck on the backstretch on the final lap of Friday night’s NextEra Energy Resources 250 to win the first NASCAR Camping World Truck Series race contested in stages under NASCAR’s new competition format. Continue reading

Cindric Piloting Third BKR Entry at Phoenix

On November 3rd, Brad Keselowski Racing announced that Austin Cindric will drive a third entry for the organization in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series (NCWTS) race on November 11 at Phoenix (Avondale, Ariz.) International Raceway.  PIRTEK, the industry leader in fluid transfer solution sales and service in the United States, will serve as primary sponsor of the No. 2 Ford F-150 driven by Cindric at Phoenix.

Cindric, 18, will be attempting his sixth career NCWTS start and fourth of the 2016 season.  He will be making his second start at Phoenix, the first time Cindric has competed at the same track more than once.  In 2015, Cindric scored a respectable 14th-place finish at the one-mile desert oval.

Hemric, Nemechek on Verge of Chase Elimination

Daniel Hemric and John Hunter Nemechek have plenty of work to do to advance in the inaugural NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Chase.

The two drivers are each 15 points below the cutoff line heading into the final race of the Chase’s Round of 8 – Saturday’s Fred’s 250 at Talladega Superspeedway at 1 pm ET on FOX. If they cannot make up the ground at Talladega, they will be dropped from the championship hunt.

Hemric boasts five top-three finishes in his last six starts, including two runner-up showings, but lost ground in the Chase with his 28th-place performance at New Hampshire in that stretch. In his lone start at Talladega last season, he placed 28th. Continue reading

As soon as Chase Briscoe rolled on the track Friday at Kansas Speedway, he became the 2016 ARCA Racing Series champion.  That wasn’t as simple as it sounds, as weather caused the practice sessions to be cancelled, with the originally scheduled qualifying time being used for practice.  As a result of that schedule change, the starting line-up was set by car owner points, with Briscoe on the pole—his tenth time starting there (six as a result of on-track qualifying and four from being the points leader or leader in practice when rain cancelled qualifying). Holding off a hard-charging rookie, the veteran ARCA Racing Series champion Grant Enfinger brought the GMS Racing No. 23 to the General Tire #AnywhereIsPossible200 checkered flag and victory lane on Friday, June 3rd. The rookie, Austin Cindric was gaining ground over the last ten laps, forcing Enfinger to race hard on the last three laps while trying to save enough fuel to finish the race.  Continue reading
